In a groundbreaking move for Sri Lanka’s digital ecosystem, SLT-MOBITEL officially launched SMART AI, South Asia’s first token credit-based AI platform, marking a significant milestone in the company’s digital transformation roadmap.

Rather than treating AI as an elite luxury, SLT-MOBITEL is actively working to make advanced AI accessible to everyday Sri Lankans, enabling students, creators, entrepreneurs and enterprises to harness its capabilities through a simple, flexible and affordable model.

SMART AI is designed to democratise access to artificial intelligence by breaking down the financial and technical barriers traditionally associated with premium and paid AI platforms. Through its token credit-based model, users no longer need to manage multiple expensive global subscriptions or separate AI accounts.

With SMART AI, SLT-MOBITEL has further expanded access to artificial intelligence offering users with access to powerful AI capabilities through flexible token credits, with 10,000 token credits available for Rs. 749, while new users receive 1,000 free token credits upon registration. The platform also features a Sinhala and Tamil-oriented AI experience, enabling more Sri Lankans to engage with AI in familiar local languages.

By combining this innovative payment model with SLT-MOBITEL’s extensive connectivity infrastructure, SMART AI places powerful AI capabilities within reach of anyone with a mobile connection. The platform is designed to encourage experimentation, productivity and innovation, empowering Sri Lankans to move from simply consuming technology to actively creating with it.

For SLT-MOBITEL, the launch of SMART AI represents another step towards building a more inclusive digital economy, where access to advanced technology is not limited by cost or technical complexity. The platform reflects the company’s vision of using technology to serve citizens and creating meaningful opportunities for individuals and businesses to participate in Sri Lanka’s digital future.

With SMART AI, SLT-MOBITEL is helping turn curiosity into capability and making advanced artificial intelligence more accessible to Sri Lankans.
