Commercial Bank of Ceylon has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SolarRay Energy (Pvt) Ltd. to promote the Bank’s Green Loans and Green Leases, enabling employed and self-employed customers to access affordable financing for solar energy solutions.

The partnership was formalised at a signing ceremony attended by Chamil Suranga Silva and senior officials of SolarRay Energy (Pvt) Ltd., and W.D. Jayasuriya Chief Manager of the Retail Products Department of Commercial Bank, along with senior officials of the Bank.

Under this partnership, customers of SolarRay Energy will be able to finance the purchase and installation of solar panels through Commercial Bank’s Green Loans and Green Leases, offered at preferential interest rates with repayment periods of up to five years. The preferential rates and benefits under this promotion will be available until August 3, 2027.

The initiative is part of Commercial Bank’s ongoing efforts to promote environmentally responsible practices, expand its portfolio of green financing products, and encourage more customers to adopt sustainable energy solutions.

SolarRay Energy will support customers with a comprehensive suite of services including engineering solutions at the interface between power assets and utility networks, feasibility studies, and Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) advisory services, as well as operation and maintenance services to ensure optimal system performance.Consulting Qualified Estate Planning Lawyers

Customers will also benefit from strong warranty assurances, including a 12-year limited product warranty and a 25-year limited power output warranty on TRINA Solar crystalline photovoltaic modules, along with a 10-year limited product warranty on SOLIS three-phase on-grid inverters.

Founded in 2016 by Managing Director Chamil Silva and Executive Director Waruni Ranawaka, SolarRay Energy has evolved from a traditional solar installer into an established renewable energy, electrical engineering, and project management company serving Sri Lanka’s residential, commercial, industrial, and utility sectors. The company delivers end-to-end capabilities spanning site assessments, grid interface engineering and EPCM advisory services, while actively expanding its portfolio to include next-generation Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and intelligent energy-management solutions.

Grounded in a technical approach that prioritises engineering quality, safety, grid compliance and long-term lifecycle performance over initial equipment costs, SolarRay Energy focuses on delivering robust, system-wide energy solutions tailored to both individual households and complex commercial operations.

Through partnerships such as this, Commercial Bank continues to make sustainable energy solutions more accessible and affordable, reinforcing its commitment to driving the adoption of green technologies among Sri Lankan households and businesses.
