EWIS Introduces EWIS AEGIS, an AI-Powered Platform to De-Risk Enterprise Legacy Modernisation

EWIS recently announced the launch of EWIS AEGIS, a first-of-its-kind AI-powered platform developed in Sri Lanka that is designed to help organisations modernise mission-critical legacy systems with greater speed, control, and predictability. The platform incorporates proprietary technology for which a patent is currently pending.

Across industries such as banking, insurance, government, telecommunications, and healthcare, legacy systems continue to underpin core operations. However, modernising these environments remains complex, costly, and high-risk, often leading to delays, cost overruns, and operational disruption.
EWIS AEGIS addresses this challenge by enabling organisations to analyse, simulate, and validate system transformations before deployment, significantly reducing uncertainty and improving decision-making. We simulate before we transform.

EWIS AEGIS brings a simulation-first approach to legacy modernisation—an area where only a limited number of platforms operate globally. It enables organisations to modernise legacy systems without disrupting the operations that depend on them. It is one of the few platforms in the region enabling full legacy system simulation prior to transformation, bringing a simulation-first approach to enterprise modernisation.

EWIS AEGIS is designed to deliver measurable outcomes by reducing transformation risk through simulation-first validation, accelerating modernisation timelines through early issue identification, and minimising downtime in mission-critical environments. It also improves cost predictability by reducing the need for rework and lowering failure rates, ensuring a more efficient and reliable transformation process.

Sanjeewa Wickramanayake, Chairman of EWIS Group, stated, “Modernising legacy systems has traditionally been a high-risk process. With EWIS AEGIS, organisations can move from uncertainty to control, understanding outcomes before implementation and executing transformation with confidence.”

EWIS AEGIS works by combining AI-driven code intelligence to extract and structure legacy system logic, dependency mapping to uncover hidden system relationships and risks, and digital twin simulation to replicate systems and validate behaviour before any changes are made. It also incorporates automated transformation to enable a seamless transition to modern architectures, alongside AI-powered testing to ensure accuracy and maintain data integrity throughout the process.

Isuru Dissanayake, Chief Technology Officer of EWIS Group, added, “By combining AI with Digital Twin simulation, EWIS AEGIS provides a clear and reliable pathway to modernisation. Organisations can validate system behaviour in advance, significantly reducing the risks associated with large-scale transformation.”

Engineered by EWIS, the EWIS AEGIS platform is designed for enterprise adoption across global markets, supporting organisations as they transition from legacy infrastructure to modern digital ecosystems.
